Cooking

For the past few weeks I have been cooking Alot lately at home.

Furry has been doing a good job with helping me clean up an maintain a clean kitchen.

Last night I made some delicious fish packet with chillies and mint on a bed of sliced zucchini.

For breakfast I made eggs over easy on top of a roasted tomato serve with a piece of avocado toast.

2 weeks in New Apartment

I can’t believe that it has been about two weeks since we moved into our new apartment.

We have finally just about settled. The few things left to do are to hang up the art and to get a shower curtain.

It feels amazing to be in this apartment. To know that this will be our neighborhood for many years to come. Best of all knowing that the money we invest into the apartment will pay off.

I freaking love EVERYTHING about the apartment. One of my favorite parts of the apt is the kitchen. Its so spacious that both B and I can be doing stuff and not in eachothers way. There is plenty of counterspace which is definitely needed when cooking. I feel like everything is larger- Even the sink is larger to hold more space making it not so annoying to leave dishes in the sink.

Also one of the best things about the apartment is the layout. Having the bedroom so far away from the living room helps to keep phone calls private and if one of us needs to get work done we can without keeping eachother awake.

Another one of the best features of the apartment is the peace and quiet. Living on the fifth floor keeps us away from the noise and also closer to the sun coming in that peaks over the buildings next to us.

I am so thankful to be so fortunate to be a homeowner/design director and engages to be married.

I’m also turning 30 next week so definitely feeling accomplished.

Nite nite.

Promotion to design director

I can’t believe it finally happened I’m turning 30 this month and I finally got promoted to design director. So happy and excited about what’s to come. Im looking forward to the announcement tomorrow.

Dreams do come true.

Apt closing

After roughly a year of emails documents and fees we finally closed on our apt today at 3:00 pm.

What was supposed to take an hour and a half max to complete took around three and a half to four hours. The reason it took so long was because practically everyone was late and the bank and money was late too which was the main reason for delay.

Also the seller took a while to move out. After closing he said he couldn’t hand over the keys because he still had stuff inside the apt. He ended up texting me at 11:30pm to give us the keys.

The best thing about getting the keys was getting the key to the free storage unit downstairs. So freaking lucky to get the storage. It’s 3 foot by 9 foot.

After we got the keys we walked around the apt for a bit and actually was able to feel the reality of what happened. so freaking relieved and will always be a day to remember.

Now it’s time to clean and get the place ready for pairing.

Apartment Closing September 10th!

OMG! I can’t believe it! Finally were almost there :-)

Our apartment closing is next Monday! It’s kind of ridiculous because this whole apartment process has taken almost an entire year!

I honestly cannot wait until we move in so that we can renovate and decorate OUR apartment knowing that any investment that we make will only add to the value of the apt.

I am super excited because its Labor day weekend so that means that this next week will be short! Only 4 days and then the weekend!

I am so happy that this is finally becoming a reality.

I really hope that me and B become healthier financially so that we can start saving for vacations etc…

GAY

I am really proud of my little furry. I was just catching up on his blog that he writes and read his post about Anderson Cooper coming out and about his feeling about people making negative comments.

I am very proud of my baby and as messed up as it sounds I still have that insecurity of looking over my shoulder or down the block if were being affectionate worried that someone may react negatively.

I remember one time when we were in DC in a gay friendly neighborhood when this fucken asshole made some gay remarks calling us faggots or something.

Alot has changed in our generation and it has been an amazing experience to be able to watch celebrities, actors and athletes coming out and seeing the public accept them.

One of my little cousins that I suspect to be gay was finally able to talk to me about his sexuality saying that he was unsure of what he was. I told him that he would know when the time comes and that there was nothing wrong with either its just how he was born.

I really am proud of our nation to see how much we have grown. We have a black president who supports gay marriage, celebrities that are gay and still have successful careers and more than a handful of gay tv shows and channels that are accepted into mainstream media.

I hope that our children grow up feeling accepted no matter what sexual preference he or she has.

Fire Island Sunday

Had such a fantastic time in Fire island with Furry this past weekend.

We made it out to Fire Island this weekend. The forecast was overcast but when we got to the beach after brunch the sun came out and we had a blast.

I was determined to finally go into the water and go past the waves. I have this huge fear of going into the water I made Furry promise me to take care of me in the water. I am always worried that the waves will take me out and ill drown or something.

Last time I was in Fire Island I really tried to swim past the waves but the pressure and waves pushed me off back towards the beach.

So as we went up to the waves I just pushed farther and kept going and it wasn’t as bad and as scary as I thought and after we got past the waves it was super calm.

We had a blast and so glad that we decided to go.

Biang in Flushing

We had the most delicious dinner tonight. Furry sent me a link earlier in the week to this new chinese restaurant in Flushing called Biang.

The food was awesome! We had quail egg on mantou bun, fried chicken wing and a delicious ox tail with hand made flat broad noodles.

Amazing and definitely will come back for their food.

Mikis Mixel

The other day Ant Amy and the triplets finally came over to our Apt. The reason they could never come over was because I was not out to the kids.

Now that all three of them know it was finally out in the open. I am so relieved and sick of hiding so definitely a huge relief.

I made some prosciutto cheese toast with pear and they loved it. After we walked down to Chocolate Bar from some ice cream and then I walked them down to the Highline.

I took Miki with me for the walk and he was exhausted! Little fatty was walking so slow but it was cute. Probably too hot for him outside but what was great was the water bowls outside of the stores. :-)

Board interview / BB

So today we finally had our board interview. Hopefully it was a success.

I honestly arrived thinking that there was going to be at least six people in the board review but there ended up being only three people!

They were all super friendly and very nice down to earth people.

I really had a good feeling about the review and think that we passed but well know the result in 1 to 2 days.

We enjoyed a nice italian dinner at the italian place across the street.

Tonight was the first night that we ever BB. What an eventful day!
