6th Tattoo

So yesterday I finally got my sleeve complete!

John O Hara from Gristle Tattoo worked on it. I got Dandelion flowers and leaves with a Cicada.

He did such an amazing job. I’m really lucky because he isn’t one of the artist that have crazy long wait lists which are really nice.

I would definitely go back to him and let him do a full sleeve of something. Just need to spend time thinking about it. Maybe I just need to continue up the arm onto the shoulder and go onto the chest or back.

The original artwork of the tattoo that he had is just a draft since he had to shift things around a bit to fit the Cicada. The original plan was for it to be near Mothy but that looked too weird having to bugs next to each other.

Purity Ring

Last night schnoo and I went to the Purity Ring concert at Terminal 5.

They were a canadian band and the other bands that opened for them were also canadian.

The music was pretty good, not as good as Sylvan Esso but they had an amazing light show.

Macbook

So I bought my first ever laptop today. Actually, a Macbook which is brand new space grey and completely gorge!

Stunning retina display with a brand new keyboard. I heard that it will take some getting use to but it seems fine for now.

Actually learning to type on it quieter which is really nice.

The best part of it is the size and how small it is. Its only 12″ which is so much better. Its the perfect size between the 13″ and the 11″ macbook air.

Schnook schnoz might be a little jealous but thats ok schnoo schnoo.

kisses forever baby. #xiexie

5th Tattoo- Thomas Bates- NY Adorned

So I had my 5th tattoo with Thomas Bates.

I wanted to get a dog since that was my Zodiac symbol. I decided that something more wild like a wolf would be cooler and also have an edge.

Guarded, Loyal and can be trusted are all qualities that are similar to my personality.

Thomas is insanely talented and I am so lucky to have this tattoo by him. He was also such a cutie :-)

Easter w Daniela

So we had our official Easter dinner at our apt this year.

When Daniela came over she assumed that dinner would be ready around three but that’s when I started cooking.

I felt rushed a little but by the time they finished doing the eggs I was done.

Dinner ended up being delicious. I made: potato leek soup, arugula salad with Parmesan dressing, baby rack of lamb and some herbed baby potatoes.

Daniela brought two desserts. A cobbler and a mango strawberry pie. Both were delicious.

Apartment Closing September 10th!

OMG! I can’t believe it! Finally were almost there :-)

Our apartment closing is next Monday! It’s kind of ridiculous because this whole apartment process has taken almost an entire year!

I honestly cannot wait until we move in so that we can renovate and decorate OUR apartment knowing that any investment that we make will only add to the value of the apt.

I am super excited because its Labor day weekend so that means that this next week will be short! Only 4 days and then the weekend!

I am so happy that this is finally becoming a reality.

I really hope that me and B become healthier financially so that we can start saving for vacations etc…

Delicious dinner tonight

Made a delicious dinner tonight.
First I made pan fried Shisito peppers, a dish that Furry and I had at the Brooklyn Flea.

For our main entree we had Malaysian Chile shrimp with lime and cilantro. Delicious flavors and the dipping sauce I made with it was a hit.

Summer fridays start tmmrw!

I am super excited. Summer fridays start tomorrow which means that i can leave the office at 1pm!

The only condition is getting to the office by 9am.

I am so excited because this is also Memorial day weekend so its an early start to the 3 day weekend.

We have loose plans with Daniela to bike ride for a bit and then grab dinner but thats only if the weather is nice.

Tomorrow I may go see Adis in jersey to hang with her. I really hope the forecast is wrong and that it doesn’t rain the whole weekend.

Dandelion leaves

So for the first time i made Dandelion greens. I remember many years ago when I saw my mom picking these out in the yard and I was weirded out that we actually ate weeds but now after seeing these leaves in organic grocery stores it makes me so proud of my mom for knowing about these so long ago before they started trending.

A little bitter but just the right amount and with a good bite to the leaves so great for stir fry dishes.

I made them with some mushrooms which was a nice simple side dish for my korean Daenjang stew.

Relaxing Sunday

Started this lovely Sunday with brunch at Socarrat.

Had this delicious egg potato omelette with bacon and spinach.

Afterwards we ran a few errands and stopped by Planet fitness, this gym that B wanted to take me to. 10 dollar membership and such an amazing gym- basically open 24-7. Maybe I’ll go today.

After that we went to the west side hwy to sit and read at the park. I finished my book that Carolyn gave me. Was such a fun read about Chinese folk tales.

For dinner I made lobster pasta with the Thai fish packet. Asia taught me how to close the thin properly. :-)

A lot has changes/ New Apartment

Wow. So a shitload has happened since I last posted. B and I are actually in the process of buying a co op apartment.

Its actually insane how it all started but long story short- Uncle wanted us to have some of the money from Grandpas house early so that I could buy an apartment and have our money go towards an investment building equity rather than spending all of our money on rent every month.

So for the past few three months we have been checking out listings. Originally we were only looking at one bedrooms because we thought that was all we could afford but it turns out that for a little more money we could get a two bedroom.

We ended up finding an awesome two bedroom apartment and its so amazing because the two bedrooms are on opposite sides of the apartment which mean more privacy. Another great bonus is all of the space plus a window in every room, including the bathroom and kitchen.

I really can’t believe this is happening. Who would have ever thought that I would be a homeowner before the age of 30.

Overall we are super fucking thrilled! Our move in date is May 1st!! Crazy ass shit! Definitely going to post lots of pictures before and after we decorate.

First day back at the office. Super excited because we received alot of the Fall12 samples. They look really great.

Joy an Pete are really happy with how they look. :-)

So many dam emails today and so much to do before thanksgiving off. Hopefully it all gets done.

Tonight I made shrimp stir fry with fried tofu dish. Was delicious!

Relaxing Day/ Spring rolls

What an amazing day. Woke up today around noon. It was fantastic and so relieved that I did not have to go into the office.

I spent most of the day chilling at home cleaning up and then head to drop off my coat at the tailors.

Afterwards went to Chinatown to shop for some groceries.

For dinner I made summer rolls for the first time. Honestly they didn’t turn our as delicious as expected since I forgot to insert the noodles duhhhh but also I didn’t have the correct peanut sauce. I found a simple peanut sauce recipe and will definitely try that next time.

Soft shell crab dinner

So tonight I decided to make soft shell crab for dinner. This was my first attempt at making them and I really wanted to make them before the summer/season was over.

I made them with an egg wash and panko crumbs and topped them off with a little bit of lime juice. I liked them but wish I would have coated them with a little flower first before doing the egg wash. I would have made them more crispy. Lesson learned for next time.

Coffee table/ Lobster

So Today we got our coffee table. I am so freakin in love with it because we custom ordered it. When we went to their warehouse in Greenpoint they had great coffeetables that we were going to consider but I fell in love with the re-claimed railroad wood. It was amazing and I knew that we had to get it. We custom ordered it which they said was going to take 3-4 months but instead it only took 2 months.

We picket up the table today and its seriously amazing. Gorgeous wood with so much character. So happy and definitely worth the money.

After we chilled and set up the table we went to get some groceries at Chelsea Market. We had lobster craving again so we decided to splurge and get lobster. The lobster was delicious. This was the second time I made lobster-so much fun and super easy. We enjoyed the lobster with curry scallop and rice. Yum…
