Freaked out

Was talking with co worker today and were freaked out about payroll situation.

She told me that this may not seem like a big deal but the fact that he can’t manage payroll that it’s a huge issue. If he can’t even manage that then there’s no telling what may happen in the future.

I have started to think about what may happen also and really not sure how I feel about the being here.

As comfortable as I am here I really don’t know how long I can stay here and if I am even learning anything by staying here.

I really hope that things get better. I’m hearing that employees are starting to look for other opportunities and it really makes me nervous. Am I here for the wrong reasons?

Now that things are moving along with the apt I really need to think about my career. But then again if I make a move too soon then eventually I will reach the top and then just get let go. What’s the point of rushing?

I just hope that things get better. One thing that is absolutely true in life – nothing is a constant.

Delicious dinner tonight

Made a delicious dinner tonight.
First I made pan fried Shisito peppers, a dish that Furry and I had at the Brooklyn Flea.

For our main entree we had Malaysian Chile shrimp with lime and cilantro. Delicious flavors and the dipping sauce I made with it was a hit.

Brooklyn Flea

I started out the day by making poached eggs with pan seared tomato and a side of avocado toast- I think this was my first time poaching eggs. I learned from watching an Elton Brown video on making poached eggs.

Had such a wonderful day today at the Brooklyn Flea. B and I haven’t been to the flea in such a long time. We used to go to the flea back when it was still at the park but now they moved to a new location by the water.

Much more space and now they have grass and the water so it definitely makes a nice place to shop, eat and just chill.

We saw lots of great places that sell furniture and art that we definitely want to look into once we move.

Fire Island with B

Today we woke up early and headed off to Fire Island. When I first woke up I definitely was not feel in it but after a little nudge from B I decided that we really should go enjoy ourselves.

After we woke up and hopped on the train I was excited for the day at the beach.

It was such a gorgeous day and since we have been here before it felt familiar so definitely enjoyed ourselves since we knew the drill.

We walked from Cherry Grove to Bay Shore which was a mile walk but actually didn’t feel that far until we reached the end. There was several exits off the beach that were blocked off that was so annoying because we were both exhausted.

Co Op latest…

Really hoping that the whole thing with the apartment goes well.

The latest and greatest is that they want 11 grand in an escrow for two ears which is insane. I’m really hoping that after they read the email from Uncle Alvin that they agree for my review.

Let’s see how it pans out.

Projects with Daniela

Tonight I saw Daniela at her house. She made delicious tomato basil mozzarella sandwich with chips note side and we had a great time talking about our concepts of making really cool leather goods to sell at the market.

We have had this idea for several years now but finally Daniela took a stand and said that every Wednesday we have creative days where we get together and just make some things.

I am really excited about this and really think that we can make this happen.

We also spoke about life in general and how it’s very important to have savings for emergencies. It’s really ridiculous that I don’t have savings considering that I make so much money. I really have to get my finances in order.

Summer fridays start tmmrw!

I am super excited. Summer fridays start tomorrow which means that i can leave the office at 1pm!

The only condition is getting to the office by 9am.

I am so excited because this is also Memorial day weekend so its an early start to the 3 day weekend.

We have loose plans with Daniela to bike ride for a bit and then grab dinner but thats only if the weather is nice.

Tomorrow I may go see Adis in jersey to hang with her. I really hope the forecast is wrong and that it doesn’t rain the whole weekend.

Portfolio A.T. WORK

I finally decided to go with Virb.com for my portfolio.

Honestly one of the main reasons why I decided to go with them was because they have easy password protection which allows me to keep my portfolio private.

I really think that having an online portfolio is the best way to go. Always accessible and definitely easier to update and maintain. Plus if you ever go on an interview no one notices that your carrying your book.

Im sure I may get some stares from people who are used to actual hard copies of their book but Its definitely the way of the future.

Syracuse with Furry

What an amazing weekend!

Furry and I planned a little vacation to his parents house in syracuse. We left early in the morning on Thursday and started our little road trip.

Our first stop was this small little town that had the largest Buddha in the eastern hemisphere. It was HUGE!

It was such a beautiful day! Perfect way to start the trip.

We made a few other stops on the way and eventually got there at night.

FRIDAY
The second day we went to this small little town Skaneateles. We got a chance to chill out in the town and explored all the little shops. For lunch we had fish fry at this small place. The food was perfect!

Really enjoyed being out there and had such a good time just NOT WORKING! It truly was a vacation.

On our way home we stopped by this slammin ice cream place called Gannons. I had the just java which was coffee ice cream with little pieces of oreos. Furry had the Lemon Custard which was just as good.

SATURDAY
Today we decided togo to Lake Oneida to go Kayaking. We started off in this little canal stream thing and ended up in Lake Oneida. After we got into the actual lake the view was amazing! We paddled towards the center for a bit and the water was so clear that you could actually see the rocks at the bottom. Even the fish were visible. It was such a beautiful sunny day and definitely worth all of the paddling.

We kayaked all the way to Fishermans Bay restaurant which was the perfect way to end the day. I was relieved to stop paddling and get some food.
I ordered buffalo wings and french onion soup- Definitely not good for me but when your on vacation anything goes.

SUNDAY- ANNIVERSARY
Today we had a simple breakfast at the diner close to the house.
After breakki we headed back and cleaned up and packed up. On the way home we stopped by this small town called Calicoon. Unfortunately since we got there so late the all of the little shops ended up closing. It turns out that this places is only around two hours from the city so we definitely are going to plan a trip back. We had dinner at Matthews which was really delicious. The hostess who was also his wife Dominique. She told us that all the food was local and that nothing was from a can, all food was made from scratch.

Overall we had such a lovely time together and definitely feel relaxed from this trip.

Dandelion leaves

So for the first time i made Dandelion greens. I remember many years ago when I saw my mom picking these out in the yard and I was weirded out that we actually ate weeds but now after seeing these leaves in organic grocery stores it makes me so proud of my mom for knowing about these so long ago before they started trending.

A little bitter but just the right amount and with a good bite to the leaves so great for stir fry dishes.

I made them with some mushrooms which was a nice simple side dish for my korean Daenjang stew.
