Poconos

Wow- what a weekend I just had in the Poconos. Basically long story short Allison planned to rent a car but we had so many problems with renting the car because of her credit card and after like 2 hours we finally got the car and headed off to the Poconos.

Even more ridiculous was the fact that we woke up at 7am and ended up leaving at like 1 pm or something. It was ridiculous because we arrived at like 4pm.

We then decided to do an outdoor event and head out to this park that has a small waterfall. We got there and had basically had an hour of daylight.

After the kids hung out and swam a bit in the water we walked out with just enough time before the sunset. It was actually perfect timing.

Being broke sucks

Jeez. It really sucks lately because of my taxes that I had to pay on my credit card it feels like I’m always broke. It really sucks because before I had to put my bills on my card I was debt free and now have that same overwhelming feeling when I think about my bills.

The good thing about Furry and my bills is that we finally started dividing our joined expenses on home and food purchases on a credit card and then at the end of the month we split the bill. It’s the perfect way to make sure that we pay our share of expenses.

I’m still working on trying to figure out how much money I actually need on personal expenses but I’ll fig it out.

Maira Kalman

Today I net up with Lo to see the Maira Kalman exhibit and was excited to be hanging with Lo outside of work. It was so nice because After Lo has her baby she is not going to come back to work and is leaving the company.

The exhibit was really cool I actually found out that she is the M in M&Co a design firm that designed one of my favorite watches.

Mairas work was amazing and he had an effortlessness way of just drawing what she wanted to draw. So care free and loose not caring about it being perfect yet capturing the subject with her unique illustrations.

One of my favorite pieces was called Newyorkistan Which was a map of the weird pockets of people.

Pride parade

Hooray Gay Pride! The best part of today was The fact that last night Gay marriage was passed in NY last night. It’s fucken amazing.

Really really happy about that since I honestly thought that it was not going to pass because feel like there’s always one fucken prick that just fucks it up for everyone else.

So today Furry and I went to the pride parade and we even were able to see Dan Savage himself with his boyfriend. We had such a lovely time and afterwards had an Italian brunch in meat packing.

After that we chilled at home and around 10pm Furry and I went to the pier to work see the fireworks show. It was amazing and it was adorable because this gay guy from south jersey was going on and on about how cute the two of us were. He made us kiss in front of him. He reminded me a lot of Adam- just a sweet guy.

Shakespeare in the Park

Last night Ant Cindy invited me to Shakespeare in the park. It was so nice of her to invite me to the see the play since she waited so long to get the tickets.

It was super cool to be in the park watching the actors perform in the park. Another reason to Love new York.

Definitely glad that I decided to go and an experience worth having.

GAY MARRIAGE passed in NY!

OMG I can’t fucken believe it. Gay marriage was just passed for NY!

I really couldn’t believe that it really happened. I thought there would be that one fucken bitch who would vote against it and just fuck it up for everyone but its actually real!

I am so happy and cant believe that we can finally get married! We are finally moving in the right direction for Gay rights and hope that this will continue to inspire other states to allow gay marriage.

What a momentous day! AMAZING!!!!

Changes at work

OMG. There are so many changes at work going on. First of all one of my favorite people at the office told us that she is leaving after she has her baby and is not returning back to the office. I was so so sad to hear that because she is seriously one of the people that has worked at the office the longest.

On top of that Shelley is also leaving the company at the end of the month. Seriously I am so dam sad because she seriously is a huge inspiration to me. She is such an amazing person and am so sad to see her go.

These changes are huge and I know its just part of working for a company but goodbyes really suck. :-(

Austins bday dinner

We celebrated Austins bday dinner in Jersey and had an amazing dinner on the back porch.

We had such a great time. We had this delicious steak and salad with some noodles. The meal was simple and not too filling. Usually we cook like so many dishes and end up eating way too much.

When we had cake we were all singing happy birthday and as we were singing I was video taping and leaned back and my fucken hair almost caught fire because I leaned over a candle. The only reason I didn’t get burned was because I felt the heat from the rim of the candle. Wow the night could have turned out horrible.

After dinner we went to see Xmen with Adis. The kids liked the movie.

In July the kids are going to go to maine for a camping trip and I’m thinking of going. It will be such a relaxing time and I really think that its something my body really needs.

Goodbye Maria!

So today I met up with Diana and Gaeul at Grand Central station so that we can ride a train together to go over to Marias house in Scarsdale for a goodbye barbecue.

Maria husband got a new position Kansas City so her entire family is moving out there. Its pretty insane and I cant even begin to imagine how much stress she is going through to sell her house and move her kids to another state. Insane also because she has been living her in NY for 15 years.

We had such a lovely time out there at her house. Maria made delicious ribeye steaks that she grilled and we had a delicious salad and fingerling potatoes.

We had such a blast also because we were outside of the office which was so refreshing considering how much time we spend at work.

I am really going to miss Maria so much. She is such an amazing person and an amazing mom. She truly is an inspiration and she totally inspires me. TRULY going to miss her.

Bridesmaids with Lolli & D & Jon

I met up with Lollise in the East village to grab a quick bite to eat before going to see Bridesmaids.

We had Sushi dinner at this Japanese place right around the corner of the theater. It was so delicious. I had Lolli try a fried shrimp head and they were so nice because they warned us that they only had two left and that the shrimp was dead so they warned us not to eat it and only fried the head for us. That was really nice since usually they would just serve it to make a buck but they were nice. Also of course the fact that they were Japanese made it even better.

The food was much more authentic than the places that we go to in our neighborhood owned by chinese people. Lolli was super sweet and wanted to pay for the bill. I graciously let her since she really wanted to show how much she appreciated her Bday with me at the McQueen exhibit.

As for the movie Bridesmaids was FUCKEN HILARIOUS!!! It was LMAO funny. I usually never cry when I laugh but I saw that movie and at one part of the movie I was crying because of how funny it was.

I had such an awesome time. It was really nice also because Diana and Jon was able to join us for the movie. It was really awesome since we usually don’t hang outside of work. Dian and Jon are both so amazing and really glad to have work with Diana and to get to know Jon. :-)
